The average person has approximately 70,000 thoughts per day. Thoughts are powerful forces which can literally make you or break you. If channeled in a positive direction they can launch you toward infinite happiness, success and fulfillment. They can also destroy you.
Fortunately, you have a choice in the matter. It is within every person to use the power of thoughts to create their own ideal reality. And the best news is that it takes only minutes a day to help guide your thoughts in the direction that is compatible with your highest good.
Thoughts Are ‘Things’
Most people underestimate the power of thoughts, but great philosophers through the ages have taught us that “thoughts are things” and the way you think has a significant impact on what you achieve (or don’t achieve) in life. Every thought has a consequence.
The more energy you give to a thought, the more powerful it becomes and it will attract the people, circumstances or things that you dwell on. Basically, your thoughts will attract you to the things and circumstances that are in “vibrational harmony” with your mind’s frequency. That frequency is determined by the thoughts and beliefs that dominate your inner mind.
Most people believe their thoughts are the result of circumstances in their lives, instead of the other way around. The truth of the matter is that your circumstances were brought about through the energy generated by your thoughts.
Channel Your Thought Energy
Consequently, it is important to channel your thought energy only into the circumstances you desire. You can neutralize the power of a negative thought by calmly replacing it with its positive equivalent.
Train your mind to steer clear of thoughts related to debt, sickness and loneliness. If those negative thoughts seep into your mind instantly replace them with thoughts of wealth, health and happy relationships. Your mind will convert your thoughts into powerful mental images that are eventually manifested in your life.
Meditation Promotes Positive Thinking
Meditation is one of the most effective methods you can use to harness the power of your thoughts in a way that leads to your happiness. Meditation boosts endorphins which are “feel good” neurotransmitters that encourage positive thought processes. A few minutes of quiet reflection each day encourages whole brain synchronization which allows calmness and clarity of thought.
In order to meditate effectively you have to shut out the world for a while. Find a spot where you are free from all distractions. Shut the door and dim the lights. Sit in a chair or comfortably on the floor.
Make sure your posture is straight but you should be relaxed, not stiff. Slowly and deliberately breathe in and out, in and out. Be very conscious of your breathing and let it lead you into a relaxed and tranquil state. Try to spend at least 10 minutes a day in meditation.
James Allen, the great philosopher who penned the book “ As a Man Thinketh” provided us with significant insight into the power of thought. Although he died in 1912, his work lives on and is well-regarded by modern day philosophers. One of his most famous quotes sums up his beliefs:
“You are today where your thoughts have brought you and you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.”
If you will internalize that quote you will unleash the power within you to create the world you desire.
