The team is using infrared thermography to scan and map the pyramids.
In a statement, the team said this:
“The teams have concluded the existence of several thermal anomalies that were observed in all monuments during the heating up or the cooling down phases,”There could, then, be a secret hidden chamber waiting to be found somewhere inside. Could its contents perhaps shed some light on this mysterious monument’s purpose?
“To explain such anomalies a lot of hypothesis and possibilities could be drawn up: presence of voids behind the surface, internal air currents.”
Egyptian Antiquities Minister Mamduh al-Damati said the Great Pyramid “will offer us today one of its secrets.”
Conventional Egyptologists believe the Great Pyramid was created by Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu, yet others widely dispute this claim.
Modern researchers have come to rather different conclusions and contend that we really have absolutely no idea why the Pyramid was built, or what exactly it was used for.
This new project will be continuing throughout 2016, so let’s hope they make a breakthrough.
